I've seen 2 wanted posters of the zodiac.

Are there others?

Why are the posters so different?

I looks like they are of different people.

Zodiac Sense of Humor

What can be said about The Zodiac's sense of humor? Can this give us any clues into his mind?

He obviously loved the fact he had the area in his grip with his words. After such few attacks he could manipulate the public with his threats. I do not believe the "Bus Bomb" was ever real. Zodiac researched the building of a bomb but did he ever really intend to build/use one? Or was it just his sadistic way of driving fear into the public?

Zodiac must have sat back and laughed at the sight of police cars following school buses. Waiting for some maniac to shoot out the tires or a bomb to go off. It was such a success that other demands would have been made by The Zodiac and were in fact.

I think there may be more to this then just what I stated here. It may delve deeper into the whole Zodiac case. Was he just playing his idea of a mind control joke on the public?

The fingerprint in Paul Stine's cab

Much was made of the fact that the bloody thumbprint in Paul Stine's cabe did not match with ALA.

The thumbprint always seemed to me to be something that was done on purpose, rather than by accident.

I was thinking a month or two ago about the thumbprint, and I remembered that on the original "Batman" series, there was an episode where someone attempted to take Bruce Wayne's fingerprints to find out if they matched Batman's prints. They did not, because Bruce/Batman had painted some latex on the ends of his fingers and had pressed the wet latex into a mold of a different print.

All you'd need is some liquid latex, and a ball of Silly Putty to take a print of someone else. With the Silly Putty, you could take several prints lay one on top of another to obscure the print without totally destroying it. And in those days, as long as you were non military and not a criminal, fingerprints of ordinary people were rare. Seems like something like that would have appealed to ZK... a great way to throw off the cops. And, since a plastic thumb wouldn't leave an ordinary print, you have to print it with something like.... blood.

It's at least as plausible as anything else.

So are there any feelings in this tribe about the SFPD formally ending their investigation of the Zodiac murders this week? I just saw that on the news last night...they said that the PD has too many things to do to continue investigating a case that is almost 30 years old.

Do you think the Zodiac is dead? If you believe Arthur Allen was the Zodiac, then I guess the answer has to be yes (Hi, Banshee!) :-) If not, I don't know what to think. After all, he'd be getting on in years by the point.

Bohemian Grove connection?

I doubt there really is a connection between The Zodiac and Bohemian Grove, but it's interesting to ponder anyway's. There were 2 differant people who apparently don't know eachother and both claim to have been kidnapped and one taken to Bohemian Grove and the other to a similar place in a diff. state. Both say that people in the elite that belong to these secret society's were forced to strip and run and the grounds being chased in a game they played and would recite some of the same words the zodiac used, "This is the Zodiac speaking, I like killing people because it is so much fun. It is more fun than killing wild game in the forest because man is the most dangerous animal of all to kill..." ... This was when the zodiac spoke of the game he played which was the same game as the people said they had to play when they were kidnaped.
Like I said I don't think there is a connection here but interesting to think about and I like to get my hands on everything about Bohemian Grove as well.

The scope of this tribe is a little limited...only focusing on one psycho. Could we open it up to all serial killers? Just so we have more to talk about? Or any senseless crimes? I'm interested in Zodiac as much as anyone else, but it just seems to be rather narrow in scope.

but perhaps not. Over on the Forensic Sciences tribe I found a post that had this link:

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20040326/ts_alt_afp/us_crime_serialkiller_040326071828

The BTK killer has returned after a 25-year absence. This is really chilling since he murdered so many women and then just vanished. Anyone with half a brain hoped he was dead or locked away but he's back.

My question is this: Could Zodiac still be out there, biding his time, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike again? Talk about your crappy thoughts for a Sunday morning.
