end of investigation

So are there any feelings in this tribe about the SFPD formally ending their investigation of the Zodiac murders this week? I just saw that on the news last night...they said that the PD has too many things to do to continue investigating a case that is almost 30 years old.

Wow, I hadn't heard that, but then I'm on the East coast. I can see why they would want to put the case on the inactive list after all this time. I guess this might be it. I know there's no statute of limitations on murder but I can think of other cases where the police have not opened a case again when new evidence became available.

I suppose we can expect a new round of Zodiac books on the shelves soon... :) Maybe something on history channel or A&E, etc. I'm going to have to tell my Mum. She grew up in Vallejo when the Zodiac was around.

Yeah, Graysmith brought out his book claiming Allen was the Zodiac before Allen died. It was interesting, if for no other reason, to read how Graysmith spent 300-plus pages dancing around the topic without actually saying Allen's name. Make sure you tell us your Mom's reaction.

<head nodding in agreement> Yeah, my Dad was on guard duty at the Presidio when the call came over the radios about the poor cabbie in the city. Oh, yeah. I forgot to talk to Mum about it. I'll ask her tonight. :)

Just saw the special on the copycat zodiac killer in New York on Court TV's forensic files, I had never heard of that case till today but there was a copycat in S.F. I think also. Kaydie was your mom in high school at the time? My parents went to Hogan High when it was all going on.

Since the case is inactive I think they should just leave it as is. Obviously they haven't been investigating the case...so why close it? Give the case to someone who can actually solve it - someone with fresh eyes.
