So are there any feelings in this tribe about the SFPD formally ending their investigation of the Zodiac murders this week? I just saw that on the news last night...they said that the PD has too many things to do to continue investigating a case that is almost 30 years old.

Re: end of investigation
Thu, April 8, 2004 - 8:58 AMWow, I hadn't heard that, but then I'm on the East coast. I can see why they would want to put the case on the inactive list after all this time. I guess this might be it. I know there's no statute of limitations on murder but I can think of other cases where the police have not opened a case again when new evidence became available. -

Re: end of investigation
Thu, April 8, 2004 - 12:33 PMI suppose we can expect a new round of Zodiac books on the shelves soon... :) Maybe something on history channel or A&E, etc. I'm going to have to tell my Mum. She grew up in Vallejo when the Zodiac was around. -

Re: end of investigation
Thu, April 8, 2004 - 12:55 PMYeah, Graysmith brought out his book claiming Allen was the Zodiac before Allen died. It was interesting, if for no other reason, to read how Graysmith spent 300-plus pages dancing around the topic without actually saying Allen's name. Make sure you tell us your Mom's reaction.

Re: end of investigation
Fri, April 23, 2004 - 11:17 PMJust saw the special on the copycat zodiac killer in New York on Court TV's forensic files, I had never heard of that case till today but there was a copycat in S.F. I think also. Kaydie was your mom in high school at the time? My parents went to Hogan High when it was all going on. -

Re: end of investigation
Tue, May 25, 2004 - 11:19 AMShe hated it. Buses being followed by popo's and parents wigging out, etc. Then again, it was safer to take the bus than walk at her age. Irony sucks. :)

Re: end of investigation
Tue, September 7, 2004 - 8:30 PMSince the case is inactive I think they should just leave it as is. Obviously they haven't been investigating the case...so why close it? Give the case to someone who can actually solve it - someone with fresh eyes.
